JR in Nouvelle York!

I was walking around the Lower East Side and noticed this amazing piece which covers (times a hundred) the Obey piece that used to be up:

I was fucking FLOORED by the enormity of this piece. Of course, none other than JR could be responsible for something so massive.

Irina Lazareanu

I really love Irina's style. I have been getting more into men's fashion and men's clothing for myself recently. My favorite outfit is a nice pair of fitted jeans, a white collared shirt and a blazer. I wear a suit to work everyday and have really been working on adapting my work wardrobe to my play wardrobe. Because Irina is so flat and skinny, she pulls off the menswear style so well.

Eske Kath

Eske Kath's artwork reminds me a little of Chiho Aoshima's work, only his colors are a little more concentrated. Both artists' oeuvres are slightly distributing. Kath's work really incorporates the effects of nature on our lives/his life in a profound way.

Tonight marks the inaugural opening of the LaViolaBank Gallery on the LES. Eske Kath, as well as a number of other extremely talented Scandinavian artists will be featuring their work. Too bad I forgot to bring my camera to work today, f**k.

Colette X Gap

I wish I could be happier about this but the fact that Colette has partnered with The Gap for their concept store on 54th Street and 5th Avenue makes me sad. I used to think Colette was the coolest store, but now, ehhhh... not so much.

It would be entirely different if Colette had partnered with a notoriously New York store. I'm thinking something like Canal Jeans or Yellow Rat Bastard (as mediocre at best examples) would have been more appropriate; engage a store that is specifically New York City and not a chain. However, I think because the Gap isn't doing so well financially, they are attempting to up their cool quotient (and yes, I think I'm cool because I just used the word quotient). This is due, in part, to their competition with European chains like Zara, where lines are constantly being updated, clothing is affordable, and the quality is good enough to last you through a couple of seasons. American chain stores let the same merchandise sit on shelves for seasons at a time. GAP, YOU ARE SO GUILTY OF THIS.

GIRL, YOU KNOW I'D TREAT YOU WELL, PLZ BE MINE

Why do we have to saturate the market with such commercial crap? I want my cool Colette back ASAP. But I must confess, even though Colette's Gap partnershp is disappointing, I do wish I wasn't so goddamn mothaf**kin' broke so I could buy that wonderful Longchamp gem of a bag.

Merci et au revoir.

I'm bored of cheap and cheerful.

Alison Mosshart aka VV of The Kills has caught my attention for many reasons:

1. Mad Steez;
2. I like The Kills and I like her voice;
3. She looks great always holding a cigarette (she's one of those women that makes smoking look so cool, I hate to say it but it's TRUE);
4. She loves Fugazi, "For years I only listened to Fugazi."
5. She went ON TOUR with Fugazi.

Alison Mosshart, it's safe to say I have a girl-crush on you. Please find me next time you are in New York City so we can go shopping and sing Fugazi lyrics all day long.

The Kills will be playing at the Music Hall of Williamsburg on October 3rd and October 4th. You can get tickets at Ticketmaster.com. You know I'll be there.
