Wish List

My birthday is 9/24. You are welcome but not limited to buying me all of the above. MERCI!

FUCK INSPIRATION

Happy Thursday!

Roland Emmerich's house in London, designed by John Teall of Flux Interiors. I want to live there OR have John Teall design my quaint shoebox (otherwise known as the small apartment I call home).

Like the boys.

Just a few reasons why I love Comme des Garçons:

If I ever win the lottery, I will spend at least $100,000 on Comme des Garçons. Je te promets.

The problem of leisure, what to do for pleasure...

Apart from loving Sofia Coppola's direction, I also love Paris, Versailles, France in general, pleasing aesthetics and great movie soundtracks:

Needless to say, I loved Marie Antoinette, in spite of all the criticism it received. It's classic and new wave, just the way I like it. The innocence and naivete of young Marie Antoinette are very nicely portrayed. And the music, I LOVE THIS EFFING SOUNDTRACK. I swear, I feel like Sofia Coppola's in my head with her soundtracks. Srsly.

Mantra: a word or formula, as from the Veda, chanted or sung as an incantation or prayer.

I'm a big fan of mantras, especially after that episode of Curb where Larry gives his good friend, Richard, his mantra "jai ya" and then asks for it back.

But really, one day I will have my own personal mantra tattooed on my body. I would also get this but it's too big:

R.I.P. Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

Rest in peace, Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn.

If you haven't read One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich, I highly suggest you do so at your earliest convenience. I'm of Russian descent and this book had such a profound impact on me. I remember reading it when I was in 10th grade, while I was taking Global Studies II. It's one of my favorite books and its voice resonates beyond its own time.

Have you read about modern day army torture tactics in Russia? It really doesn't differ too much from what Solzhenitsyn wrote about in his book.
