PLANET OF THE ARABS

The first time I saw anything by Jackie Salloum, I was in Madrid. The Reina Sofia had an exhibition of new film directors and Jackie's work was featured. Her work is so poignant, it blew my fucking mind.

She's also made a full-length movie called Slingshot Hip Hop. In terms of a movie it may not be the best but it gives us a glimpse into what life is like in the Palestinian territories. It's a real eye opener and most definitely worth watching.

THIS MOVIE SUCKED!

Like seriously guys, I'm a big fan of Biggie, HUGE fan of Biggie (I'm stating the obvious here, I know). I thought this movie was cheap, the acting sucked (how the BLOODCLOT is Voletta Wallace not speaking with an accent, like are you serious?), and it really doesn't compare to who the man, Christopher Wallace, was. Halfway through this shit got turned off and never came back on.

Ugh, Hollywood.

When I'm feeling down, this song always brings me back up. The video reminds me so much of being in Paris. The first night I was ever in that city, I went exploring with a wack girl also named Melissa. Well, she was kind of wack but not too wack to not tag along with me on my adventures on the Parisian metro. We were leaving Les Halles to go back to the hotel late at night and there were about 30 breakdancers doing their thing. It was seriously magical.

Je t'aime vraiment, Paris. C'est vrai.
